Tytania Live at Brooklands 6th Oct 2011

Autumn arrived yesterday with a stark reminder that summer festivals have well and truly finished, and wearing shorts is ill advised. On this cold evening, there is a warm welcome into the large venue in Batley, with a fairly big audience who have braved the weather.
The first band on, Elliott’s Incentive quickly warmed up the crowd after the previous acoustic act, Dylan Brierly, gave another brilliant individual set. Elliott’s Incentive brought there unique double fronted punk sound into the venue, showing a great amount of promise for the future of this young band.
Next we had Small Print who brought their fast indie fuelled set in front of a responsive audience. They confidently played through each song, with some fantastic energetic vibes surging from the stage.
From the first song Tytania played, this chilly autumn night exploded into action. Each and every song was played with absolute tightness from the gang of five. The singer (Richard) controlled the stage with absolute authority, placing the audience neatly in the palm of his hand, a perfect balance between great singing and great showmanship. The vocal harmonies between Richard and Luke on guitar were excellent and added a great deal of power behind the songs.
Adam on lead guitar was able to take control of the breaks in vocals by neatly putting in some great solos. Each one had its own character and each solo was flawless. It’s great to see a band who really enjoy being on stage, as well as playing not just songs, but anthems which are catchy, bouncy and powerful. With a great drum and bass section who blended perfectly with the rocking guitars and soaring vocals, this is a band who took it to the next level tonight.
